WHEN IT RAINS IN HEAVEN
In “When It Rains In Heaven,” his most overt defiance of tragedy yet, Robinson reckons with an unstable personal history, relying on core tenets of the Robinson Brown Bible: the color orange, heavy and enduring clothing, acceptance of rainy skies, and a rockstar lifestyle. Robinson explores the impossibility of purity from within his childhood home, creating in his bedroom and coming face to face with a heaven that embraces storm clouds. In a sort of culmination of his prior œuvre, Robinson manifests a personal reconciliation of the divine but taxed life he has launched himself into… with this collection we get a Robinson Brown who is disillusioned, but not defeated. Heaven and Hell exist simultaneously in this world; and the moon looked so full until we landed–crash landing in a ditch.
SHE LOVED RED
But as the dreamy night sky fades, and carefree youth slips by, replaced by responsibilities, only faith in a return to paradise remains. Left on Red...
Visions by rob
A subtle armor, these glasses make the weight upon the hurt one’s shoulders a bit more bearable. They cast the wearer into a night sky where nobody can see a teary eye or their closed-eye-dream.
27 club
Winehouse, Basquiat, Cobain, Hendrix. The “27 Club” collection embodies the fragile connection of superstar dreams to the realities of human sensitivities. The American blue jeans, tough and reliable, transfuse Americans together from across generations through their denim threads; the 27 club, an exclusive group, collects legendary artists under a mythic status through their mortal yet superhuman success. Basquiat, spray paint, and poetic courage are plastered onto a symbol of the age-old American dream, resulting in this denim collection. The “27 Club” jeans are wearable manifestations of the traces stars leave behind, threads that guide us towards glory as we honor them.
LET THERE BE LIGHT
These sweatsuits are the Genesis of the Robinson Brown label in three colors: white, black, and orange. They serve as the opening pages to the bible of Robinson’s creative world. The smooth and vibrant garments are spiritually inspired and meant to enable a lucid dialogue with the eternal. “Let There Be Light!” It echoes throughout downtown Manhattan, and Robinson Brown has since been a torch-bearer.
Fits
As co-founder and major participant in FITS, Robinson was able to share his talent for bringing ideas to life with the grassroot fashion community in New York City. FITS provided various designers and brands based throughout the east coast with a reliable and effective platform for marketing and selling their products. FITS provided a space for hundreds of emerging designers to share and profit from their work, while engaging countless more creatives of all types within a supportive community. And Robinson, as the Creative Director of FITS, was available to the entire community most valuably as an experienced resource and leader.
